Cretaceous Burmese Amber with spider inc

This is a lovely large Cretaceous period Burmese Amber with a 99 million year old spider inclusion inside, the spider can be seen with the naked eye but looks incredible with an eye glass. Amber is sticky tree sap that has been hardened and fossilised over millions of years, not to be mistaken with copal that is only a few thousand years. When finding Amber, if we are lucky we may find inclusions such as insects or plant material, the most common are flying insects such as Gnats. Spiders are fairly rare and even more so when clear. This Amber was found in deposits in Myanmar which is under pressure to be closed, this was sourced from an old collection and I do not condone the destruction of landscapes for this purpose. The quality of this Amber is very high with exceptional clarity and visibility of the inclusion.
